Let's stir the pot a little today... 😏
This week's episode of Hustled Up is exactly what it sounds like: our biggest business hot takes. Some of these opinions might make you nod your head in agreement. Others might make you want to pause the episode and argue with us (which, honestly, we fully support 😂).
After years of running a service-based business, making mistakes, fixing mistakes, and learning things the hard way, we've developed some pretty strong opinions about entrepreneurship. Are they universally accepted? Definitely not.
But they've shaped the way we run our business, lead our team, and make decisions every single day.
So let's dive into a few of the hot takes we unpack in this week's episode...

Not Everyone Should Be an Entrepreneur
We know... we're starting with a spicy one. 🌶️
Social media has made entrepreneurship look glamorous. Flexible schedules. Coffee shop workdays. Working from the pool. Financial freedom.
And while those things absolutely can happen...
They're usually built on years of hard work, difficult decisions, sacrifices, and a whole lot of stress that people don't post about online.
Here's the thing:
There is absolutely nothing wrong with loving your 9-to-5.
Not everyone wants to think about work at dinner. Not everyone wants to wake up at 2 a.m. worrying about payroll, taxes, employees, or client issues.
And that's okay.
Entrepreneurship isn't "better." It's just different.
The goal isn't to convince everyone to own a business. The goal is to build a life that actually fits you.
Revenue Isn't Everything
One of the biggest mindset shifts we've had over the last year is realizing that revenue doesn't tell the whole story.
Sure... hitting a million dollars in revenue sounds exciting.
But if your profit margins are tiny, your cash flow is a mess, and you're constantly stressed about making payroll...
What's the point?
We've become far more focused on profitability than vanity metrics.
Because a smaller business with healthy profit is often a much healthier business than a massive company that's barely staying afloat.
Revenue is exciting.
Profit pays the bills.
Busy Doesn't Mean Productive
Somewhere along the way, hustle culture convinced us that being exhausted was something to brag about.
Working 80-hour weeks.
Answering emails at midnight.
Never taking a vacation.
Being "so busy."
But being busy isn't the goal.
Freedom is.
The real flex isn't working yourself into burnout.
The real flex is building systems that allow your business to keep running — even when you're not sitting behind your computer.
That takes work upfront.
But future you will be incredibly grateful.
Learning Is Great... But Execution Changes Everything
This one might hit a little close to home. 😅
Entrepreneurs love learning.
Books.
Podcasts.
Courses.
Webinars.
YouTube videos.
And while education is incredibly valuable...
At some point you have to stop consuming and start implementing.
Knowledge without action doesn't grow your business.
Execution does.
Instead of asking yourself, "What's the next course I should buy?" try asking:
"What have I learned recently that I still haven't implemented?"
That question alone can completely change the trajectory of your business.
AI Isn't Replacing Business Owners... But It Is Changing Business
Let's talk about the elephant in the room.
AI.
We don't believe AI replaces entrepreneurs.
But we do believe entrepreneurs who completely refuse to adapt may eventually struggle to keep up.
We've used AI to brainstorm ideas, organize documents, speed up administrative work, and create better systems.
Notice we said speed up...
Not replace.
It's a tool — not a substitute for creativity, strategy, or leadership.
Like every new technology, it's all about learning how to use it intentionally.
Sometimes "No" Is the Most Powerful Business Decision
As entrepreneurs, it's easy to feel like every opportunity deserves a yes.
A new client.
A collaboration.
A side project.
Another commitment.
But every "yes" takes up space on your calendar.
And eventually, saying yes to everything means you don't have room for the opportunities that actually align with your goals.
Your time is valuable.
Protect it accordingly.

Final Thoughts 💛
The fun thing about hot takes is that they're opinions — not universal truths.
Maybe you agree with every single one.
Maybe you completely disagree with half of them.
Either way, we hope this episode encourages you to think critically about the way you're building your business instead of simply following what everyone else is doing.
Because entrepreneurship isn't about copying someone else's path.
It's about building a business that supports the life you actually want.
And if that means having a few controversial opinions along the way...
We're okay with that. 😉
We'd love to hear from you! Which hot take did you agree with? Which one made you raise an eyebrow? Come tell us over on Instagram or leave us a comment on YouTube — we're always up for a good (respectful 😉) debate.
Happy hustling, bestie! 💕
