150. Why Cleaning Business Owners Are Obsessed with CleanCon ✨

150 episodes. 😭💗

Before we jump into this week's topic, can we just take a second to appreciate that we've somehow managed to record 150 episodes of Hustled Up?!

When we started this podcast, we never imagined it would grow into what it has become. What began as two best friends talking about entrepreneurship, cleaning businesses, and all the chaos that comes with building something from the ground up has grown into an incredible community of listeners, business owners, dreamers, and doers.

So before anything else, thank you. Thank you for listening during your workdays, your commutes, and your cleaning routes. Thank you for sharing episodes with your friends. Thank you for sending us DMs, supporting the podcast, and allowing us to be a small part of your entrepreneurial journey. We truly wouldn't be here without you. 💕

And honestly? We can't think of a better way to celebrate Episode 150 than by sitting down with the founders of one of the most talked-about events in the cleaning industry right now: CleanCon. Because if you've spent any amount of time in the cleaning industry lately, you've probably heard someone mention it.

Maybe you've seen it all over social media. Maybe you've heard people talking about it in Facebook groups. Maybe you've watched business owners come back from the event completely fired up and wondering what kind of magical cleaning conference Kool-Aid they're serving over there. 😭

So we sat down with the four founders behind CleanCon to find out exactly why so many cleaning business owners can't stop talking about it. And after this conversation? We get it.

So. .. what is CleanCon? 🤔

It Was Never Supposed to Be "Just Another Conference"

One of the biggest things that stood out to us during this conversation was how intentional the founders were when creating CleanCon.

They didn't want to build another event where you sit in a ballroom for three days, collect a pile of business cards, and leave feeling overwhelmed by 472 ideas you'll never actually implement. Instead, they wanted to create an experience. A place where cleaning business owners could learn from each other, have real conversations, and build genuine relationships.

Because let's be honest for a second ... running a cleaning business can feel lonely sometimes. Especially when your friends and family don't really understand what it's like to manage employees, deal with client complaints, navigate hiring struggles, and somehow still remember to answer your emails. 😅 That's where community becomes so important.

The Best Conversations Usually Don't Happen On Stage

One thing we absolutely loved hearing from the founders was their belief that some of the most valuable learning happens outside of presentations. Of course, educational sessions matter. Of course, speakers matter.

But often the real magic happens during:

  • Lunch conversations

  • Hallway chats

  • Mastermind groups

  • Networking events

  • Late-night conversations with people who "get it"

You know ... the moments where someone casually shares a solution to a problem you've been struggling with for months. Or the conversation that completely changes how you think about your business.Sometimes one connection is worth the entire trip.

Bigger Isn't Always Better

This was another takeaway we loved. In the business world, it's easy to assume the biggest companies always have the best answers.

But the founders talked about something we've experienced ourselves: valuable ideas can come from anyone. Sometimes a newer business owner sees something differently. Sometimes a smaller company has a process everyone else should be copying. And sometimes the person sitting next to you has already solved the exact challenge you're facing.

The goal isn't to prove who's the most successful person in the room. The goal is to learn. And that's what makes events like this so powerful.

As an award-winning journalist and company culture enthusiast, she believes deeply in helping people discover their "why" and create meaningful connections — which honestly feels like the heartbeat of everything CleanCon is trying to accomplish.

Why Community Matters More Than Ever

If there was one theme that kept showing up throughout this conversation, it was community.

Because the truth is, there is enough business for everyone. There is enough success for everyone. And there is so much value in putting a group of smart, ambitious cleaning business owners in the same room and letting them learn from one another.

We've seen firsthand how much our business has grown because of relationships we've built within this industry. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation. One idea. One connection. One room. And suddenly, everything changes!

Final Thoughts 💭

After talking with the founders, it's pretty easy to understand why so many cleaning business owners are obsessed with CleanCon.

It's not just about the education. It's not just about the speakers. It's not just about the networking. It's about creating a space where people feel supported, connected, and inspired to grow!

Whether you're attending CleanCon this year or simply listening to this episode from your office, we hope it reminds you that you don't have to build your business alone.

Because some of the best things in business happen when we stop trying to figure everything out ourselves and start learning from each other. 💕
