132. New Year, New Goals: Setting and NOT Forgetting 🥅

In this week’s episode of Hustled Up, we decided to keep the New Year conversations going with yet another round of goal setting — but this time, we went deeper. We shared both our business goals for Chores & More and our personal goals, and honestly? The personal ones felt way more vulnerable. Talking about business goals feels visionary and exciting, but personal goals require us to admit where we want to grow, change, and do better.

We also talked openly about something that doesn’t get discussed enough: not hitting every goal. We shared how we reassessed our Q4 goals, adjusted expectations realistically, and then took a deep dive into why certain goals weren’t met. Instead of beating ourselves up, we focused on identifying patterns, bottlenecks, and areas that needed cleanup — because growth without reflection doesn’t actually move the needle.

Our Business Goals for Chores & More

This year, we’re getting very intentional with growth. Some of the big focuses we discussed include:

  • Hitting a million-dollar run rate by breaking the goal down into realistic monthly, weekly, and daily targets 💚

  • Improving client and employee retention by addressing quality control, staffing, and systems

  • Launching Chore University, our comprehensive, company-specific training program designed to improve onboarding, consistency, and long-term retention

One of our biggest takeaways? Goals can’t just live in your head or your planner — they have to be broken down, scheduled, and actively worked on.

Our Personal Goals (aka the Vulnerable Stuff)

We also shared some personal goals that feel a little scarier to say out loud:

  • Improving financial habits and reducing unnecessary payment plans

  • Building savings and being more intentional with money

  • Prioritizing health through daily movement and sustainable habits

  • Creating routines that support our energy, productivity, and overall well-being

We talked a lot about habit goals vs. achievement goals, and why habit-based goals often feel harder — but are ultimately what lead to lasting change. This year, we’re focused on progress over perfection and giving ourselves grace while still holding ourselves accountable.

Final Thoughts

If you haven’t set your goals yet, don’t stress. Goal setting doesn’t have to happen on January 1st, and it doesn’t have to be perfect. Our hope is that this episode inspires you to reflect, reassess, and start mapping out goals in a way that actually feels achievable!

And if you want us to do a Part 2 where we share our Hustle Haven goals, let us know — we’re always down to keep the conversation going.
