144. Faith, Fear, and Founders: The Power of Believing in What You Can’t See

Have you ever felt called to do something bigger … but had absolutely no proof it was going to work out? Because same.

In this episode, we’re diving into the reality of what it feels like to be a founder — or honestly, just a human — standing at the edge of something new, exciting, and completely uncertain. Whether it’s starting a business, making a bold decision, or stepping into a new version of yourself, there’s almost always one thing standing in the way: fear. And not always the obvious kind.

Let’s Talk About Fear (Because It’s Not What You Think)

We’re not just talking about panic or anxiety — we’re talking about the sneaky ways fear shows up in your life and business.

Fear can look like:

  • Procrastination

  • Overthinking every decision

  • Waiting for the “perfect” time

  • Obsessing over small details (hi, color palettes and logos 👀)

  • Avoiding visibility or putting yourself out there

We’ve both been there—putting things off, making excuses, telling ourselves we “just need more time,” when in reality… we’re just scared.

And the truth is? You’re not going to become fearless. You’re just going to learn how to move with the fear.

Why Faith Is the Real Entrepreneurial Superpower

If fear is always going to be present, then what actually moves you forward? Faith.

And we don’t just mean faith in one sense—we’re talking about:

  • Faith in yourself

  • Faith in your mission

  • Faith in your ability to figure it out

  • Faith in God or a higher power

  • Faith that what you’re building is meant to grow

Because here’s the thing: entrepreneurship requires you to believe in something before you have proof.

Before the clients. Before the income. Before the results.

You’re being asked to show up, take action, and stay consistent … without knowing exactly how it’s all going to play out. That’s where faith comes in.

Fear Says “What If It Fails?”

Faith Says “What If It Works?”

We love this reframe because it’s so simple — but so powerful.

When you’re operating from fear, your thoughts sound like:

  • “What if I fail?”

  • “What if people judge me?”

  • “What if this doesn’t work?”

But when you shift into faith, those thoughts become:

  • “What if this works beyond what I imagined?”

  • “What if I’m actually capable of this?”

  • “What if this changes my life — and someone else’s?”

Same situation. Same unknown. Different mindset.

You Have to Believe Before the Evidence Exists

This is the part people don’t talk about enough. You don’t get to wait until you’re confident. You don’t get to wait until it’s guaranteed. You don’t get to wait until everything is perfectly aligned.

You have to believe first.

We’ve done this in our own journey — whether it was starting our cleaning business, making big operational changes, or launching new ventures like The Hustle Haven. There were so many moments where we had zero proof … but we moved forward anyway.

And guess what? Every time we pushed through the fear, it was never as scary as we made it out to be.

Let’s Get Practical: How to Choose Faith Over Fear

We love a mindset moment, but we also love giving you something tangible to walk away with. So here are a few ways you can start choosing faith in your everyday life and business:

1. Move with imperfect confidence

You don’t need to be 100% sure—you just need to take the next step.

2. Borrow belief from your mission

If you’re doubting yourself, anchor back into why you started. Your mission is bigger than your fear.

3. Keep track of your past wins

Think about all the hard things you’ve already done. You’ve made it through 100% of your worst days so far.

4. Protect your mindset

This looks like:

  • Prayer

  • Journaling

  • Affirmations

  • Morning routines

  • Surrounding yourself with supportive people

Your environment matters more than you think.

5. Visualize the life and business you want

We’re talking really visualize it — what it looks like, feels like, sounds like. Your brain starts to align your actions with that vision.

One Step at a Time

You don’t need to have the entire plan figured out. You don’t need to see the whole staircase. You just need to take the next step. Even if you’re scared. Even if it’s messy. Even if you’re not fully ready.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, you may not be able to see the full picture yet — and that’s okay. That doesn’t mean it isn’t unfolding.

This episode is your reminder that you can do hard things. That fear doesn’t disqualify you — it just means you’re stepping into something that matters.

So if there’s something on your heart that you’ve been putting off … consider this your sign. Do it scared. Trust yourself. And take the next step!
